Old Mother Hubbard

I can see why Old Mother Hubbard would have been frightened if this creature would have sat down beside her. Now can anyone identify this spider for me? It’s web was quite large, and went from the ground up to the Magnolia tree in I believe tree points of connections.

I took pictures of both sides.

Reclaiming My Narnia

This guy is growing, emphasis on growing, into an awesome guard frog. He is HUGE, looks like a mutant when next to his froggy pals. That is a watering bucket outside my door that he was proudly perched on when we came home last night.

Does Anyone Know What This Is

I posted these large in hopes that someone could help me identify what in the world it is. This critter was on a vine and you could see its little legs booking it fast. I do not know if it was a spider taking down its web or what? Any ideas?

Weekly Photo Challenge: Nostalgic–Butterfly Surgery

As a child I loved chasing butterflies from flower to flower, I suppose chasing was putting it lightly. Stalking was more like it. Those poor traumatized butterflies.

I remember one day being very very young and playing with one of our butterflies until nearly all the dust was off his wings. I was so very sad the he could not fly. He tried but just walked around. I just knew we had killed him, as I looked at his wing dust on our little fingers.

We thought and thought what we should do. I had a brilliant idea. Our dirt was dusty like the dust on his wings, so I dusted his wings really good, and said a little prayer, and you know what? He flew, it took him a couple of times, but he flew away.

I have always wondered if it was the dirt dust or Heavenly Father answering the prayers of a child who had tender growing faith.

My photographs are of butterflies. I noticed the wings of the orange butterflies are kind of worn. I wonder if they too have been stalked, captured, and then became a child’s miracle too.

Lace and Paper Are You Ready For Your Closeups? KNOT!

I am really enjoying learning the macro.  It is just fun to see things from different angles and lighting, and so closeup!

Is it just me or is  there something strangely beautiful about the knot?  It is one of my favorites.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Companionable

I love my “Guard Frogs”. They let me know when the rain is coming. They are just adorable to me. I pet them and talk to them everytime I come home or when I am on my porch. I think this picture is so cute of them coming out to greet me.

I Call It Spike

I should probably learn the name of things. Please if you ever see a flower, insect, mushroom, or anything I post and know the real name share it. 🙂

Bringing Home A Baby Bumble Bee

I am having a ball with the Macro lens.  WOW!  Just WOW!  I cannot wait to try out the telephoto, too.

The next was a pretty large bumble bee.  I didn’t realize bees were so fast or so hairy.

I found Smurf Village.  Couldn’t find the little blue guys though. They must have been somewhere else.

This is what Bec’s nightmares are made of.  No Bec,  I did not kill it.  It hopped flower to flower.
