Does Anyone Know What This Is

I posted these large in hopes that someone could help me identify what in the world it is. This critter was on a vine and you could see its little legs booking it fast. I do not know if it was a spider taking down its web or what? Any ideas?

Come Closer, Come Closer

Guarding the Nest 7-1

I kept trying to get this shot and the wasp were getting really aggravated.  Each time the nest humming as if to entice me in closer to get that perfect shot.

Shoo Fly Don’t Bother Me

I remember when as a child swimming and one of these horse flies would come around, we would scream “Horse Fly”!  and everyone would splash and dive under the water.

One landed on the truck today and was able to get a picture close up.

It just amazes me daily the things I am starting to see anew.  From the sand on the ground, to the true beauty of flowers.  I have always thought flowers were nice, but never been one to notice the shapes of petals or drops of rain on them, or tiny creatures in their habitat.  I am so grateful for this photographic journey of healing and awakening to the world around me.  These pictures all come from Mother’s gardening.  I can see why she finds peace when working around it.

Consider the Lilies of the Field

Some of Mother’s green thumb gardening again. These lilies grow massive and beautiful.

The insect on the first lily enjoyed a fresh drink of rain water off of the lily petal.

Send Out The Troops!

If your foot, hand, or any body part never met the mound of a Georgia Fire Ant family, count yourself as blessed.  These monsters bite, and their bites go in for the kill!  They burn and itch, and then welt and fester up.  One of the pestilences we deal with here in the deep south.

My First Attempt, Kind of Funny

20130604-185953.jpg

This was one of my first attempts. I was trying to get the little fly on the leaf.

I need to explain that I am the person notorious for cutting heads off in important shots. I finally started handing the camera to someone else. This is huge for me to attempt to take pictures. My Mother has loaned me her Canon Rebel XT camera to learn with and help with my healing.
