We Call Her Tender, As In Tender Mercy

Tender mercies come in all shapes and sizes. Several months ago my Mother was going through a particularly difficult time and while she was in her yard as therapy Heavenly Father sent the sweetest tender mercy to her. They are now dear friends, no pun intended.

She follows Mother along the chain link fence, comes to Mother’s voice and her name, “Tender” or “Baby”. She will stand and watch you as you watch her. She has a gentle wisdom in her eyes. She is so beautiful. My camera battery went dead so I did not get too many good shots, but there are a couple. I hope to get more soon.

I mentioned to Mother, “Tender is ruining my love of deer sausage and deer meat.”

Just look at her. (I am shooting through the fence, so that’s the blur. The last, I thought was just a neat picture.)

Is There Something Wrong With This Picture?

20130712-222650.jpg

Coming across the causeway to St. Simons last weekend, my husband and I had a good chuckle at this dock. It could be our lack of nautical knoweldge, but what use is a dock that is not connected to land? Is this normal in a Marina?

Can anyone explain why?

Baby Let’s Cruise..Away From Here

Baby Let's Cruise..Away From Here

Can you tell we really like to use cruise control?
Sometimes I wish I could just hop in the car, set it on cruise and let it take me where it wants to go!

Yep, Baby Let’s Cruise Away From Here!

Does Anyone Know What This Is

I posted these large in hopes that someone could help me identify what in the world it is. This critter was on a vine and you could see its little legs booking it fast. I do not know if it was a spider taking down its web or what? Any ideas?

My What BIG Eyes You Have

This guy was there to greet me when I went to see my parents today.

Casting Away

We went down to the beach last night and saw this young man cast fishing. I was amazed at his diligence. His mom said he had caught some crabs and fish earlier in the day.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Nostalgic–Butterfly Surgery

As a child I loved chasing butterflies from flower to flower, I suppose chasing was putting it lightly. Stalking was more like it. Those poor traumatized butterflies.

I remember one day being very very young and playing with one of our butterflies until nearly all the dust was off his wings. I was so very sad the he could not fly. He tried but just walked around. I just knew we had killed him, as I looked at his wing dust on our little fingers.

We thought and thought what we should do. I had a brilliant idea. Our dirt was dusty like the dust on his wings, so I dusted his wings really good, and said a little prayer, and you know what? He flew, it took him a couple of times, but he flew away.

I have always wondered if it was the dirt dust or Heavenly Father answering the prayers of a child who had tender growing faith.

My photographs are of butterflies. I noticed the wings of the orange butterflies are kind of worn. I wonder if they too have been stalked, captured, and then became a child’s miracle too.
